Hows your caullies?

First time growing brassica's, every one of my cauliflowers have blown.
We probably did something wrong, and I guess the early pigeon attack didn't help, but for all of them to blow, makes me wonder if it's down to the dry summer we had. ?

Cauliflower are not the easiest to grow....just try again next year....what variety were you growing?

Not a clue to be honest.
The packet has long gone.

I tried to grow one this year. It started off well. Then it got attacked by slugs and caterpillars. The leaves looked like skeletons. The cauliflower grew to the size of a large floret but then it turned brown and died.

I find Clapton is a good reliable cauliflower, in the south May Bach produces good heads before it gets too warm

I have had, I think, a good summer for cauliflowers. I grow a fair few and, considering the heat and lack of water, I had several which produced good heads.
I had some which blew, though I still use them in an aloo gobi.
It seems a fussy veg so having any decent ones always seems a bonus.
