Badgers ransacked our allotments sweetcorn. My raised bed proved too much of a challenge as pinned down double netting old metal fire guards posts bricks bits of metal edging and a sign saying "Thieving Badgers will be made into fur mittens" etc meant they couldn't be arsed and went for easier pickings
elsewhere. (Just discovered they eat hedgehogs... made me very sad)
Slugs not too bad. But some damage done. Chucked into stream for fish lunch. Some empty snail shells suggested they simply shrivelled up.
Rats! One or two early on sweetcorn chewed off.
Asparagus beetle Arrrggghhh. Blighters. Their grubs...Erk. Make me heave.
Lot of shield beetles about and worrying new strain on the horizon.
Allotment pixie.. who picks up tools seed packets and gardening gloves Disguises them and hides them all about the allotment so although I've just been using the stuff it "disappears" can't seem to find a spray deterrent on the shelves for that one!!
