  • Mushrooms in raised bed

Having harvested my potatoes, I chucked the compost on to the raised bed in one spot (other veg were still growing). I've now got mushrooms growing. I guess it's a combination of fertile soil and damp weather.

I was planning on prepping the bed for next year (rip everything out, plant some onion and garlic, maybe some winter veg) but want to avoid causing more issues (I know fungi spread via spores typically).

    Any tips?

This year is a very good year for fungi my garden has them everywhere, I just ignore them and carry on doing what ever I want to do. If you are absolutely certain they are edible mushrooms, then harvest them and then continue with your plans would be my route.

I consider fungi beneficial in the garden. They break down plant material in the soil and turn it into compost.
Like, burnie, I ignore them and only remove individual ones if they're in the way of planting.
