Hi All.
For years i have been twisting the tops of beetroot as was advised years ago.
Stops them bleeding was the reason.
So this last few seasons i have chopped them off with a cleaver ready for composting and they did not bleed at all when twisting off there was often beetroot juice on my finger.
So i am wondering if this a myth or not as myths appear to muliply in gardening.
Also noticed greengrocers uncooked beet with leaves cut not twisted.
Just curiouso
