Mine haven't been very good this year - going black on the ends. If it had been on a person, they'd have been down the clinic.
I don't think they appreciated not being watered through summer.
My "best" one grew through the chicken wire and had a little accident when extricated.

May I introduce Richard Brokeback he's a bit embarrassed about his injury!

I bought I was out as I’ve been picking them small and young like courgettes - they’d stop growing and start going yellow at the tips.

...until I found this one lurking on the ground

It’s about 105cm long and nearly 2.7kg - that’s 5lb 14oz in old money - heavier than me as a baby

As it is getting colder at night now I decided to remove all my trombos so I pulled my big one


And Thelma, it was quite exciting to pull it but I did it nice and slow so that my blood pressure wouldn't rise

Length 1·2 mts. weight 2·2kg. and here's the pumpkins from the same bed I lifted two this morning but no way I am showing just two with the trombo

So today I chopped the trombas. The weather is going to get bad, so I wanted to get in there first.

3.1 kg



This beast is 3.8 kg!

Here is my last one just picked,and my entry,she is BIG and heavy she weighs in at neary 6.5 pound,and is 13 in at the widest,more pick with measure if wanted,this like the other one was grown outside with no feeding only kept tidy and water when i remembered

Wow, that snake is really impressive!
Pulled this one today. It was only 164g. Mine haven't been very impressive but at least they produced something.


Hubby says there are some better ones in the pots but I'm too wimpy to go out in the rain to look. Maybe tomorrow

I can't extricate him from the wire netting without a surgical operation and, I fear, he would not be quite as impressive with his end cut off.

Since he's still putting on length and girth I haven't measured him but I did grip him firmly to give you an idea of what he has to offer. As you can see, he's a proper handful.

I've picked a couple of very impressive troms ( for my climate) today.

The first one I forgot to photograph ( gutted ! ) 19 1/2cm at widest point, 64cm long, weight 800g

Second one I did remember to photograph.
