Covering beds with cardboard

I have a garage full of cardboard, but not enough compost to cover all my beds, I also have a bag of 6X manure, so was wondering what would be the best way to use these materials, should I scatter the 6X over the beds then cover with the cardboard
Or cover the beds with the cardboard and mix the 6X with the compost and spread it on top

I would scatter it on the beds then cover it with cardboard and put the compost on top covered with dead leaves to stop things growing.

Is that the green bag or the red bag?

Green bag does say to add to heavy soils to help condition it at this time of year. To be honest I'd tend to keep it into spring and condition you bed a month before planting.

If cardboard is soaked well I think it wouldn’t be bad no matter what way you layer it. My own preference would be manure and compost if possible covered by cardboard and then something relatively weed free like leaves or grass clippings.

Give it time, in a couple of weeks I will tell you how good the soil looks, by the way it is excellent material for onion beds, so f you forward a parcel post payment with your name and address I will forward some to you, and of course just a small payment (£20.) to cover my expenses will guarantee a delivery
As an added bonus there will be a mug also

Its red bags that I have, which I suppose should be added a short time before planting up, but as I want to cover my soil with the cardboard before winter comes in, could I apply it now below the cardboar, or would I be better waiting and spread it on top of the weathered cardboard in the spring

So it is a fertilizer NPK (UK) 3 2.5 2 unless a bag fell off the Irish ferry then it is NPK (IRL) 3 1.1 1.6 (just thought that was strange).

I'd still be tempted to keep it to next season. 15kg is not going to help much in the scale of things.

As there was quite a wind blowing this morning I decided to go and collect some seaweed, so I now have enough to cover the cardboard on my veg beds, and no doubt I will collect more before the winter is past, actually I might manage to get more before the end of the year
