Radish and turnips in gutters

Well shortest day is past and it is down hill to summer.
Once I get past the "Bah-Humbug" season I shall start the garden moving.
Was watching Hugh S on tv an he mentioned radish in gutters.
I shall try that as I have awful slug problems.
I wonder if baby turnips and even beetroot would work?

Give it a go, I grow lettuce in gutters and that works out fine. Plus I always start of my peas in them as well.

Not enough gutters. Perhaps a night time raid around the estate with my ladders.
Think anyone will notice ?

Turnips should work ok, beetroot has very long roots and might find a gutter too cramped, but you can always try.

Will depend on you gutters. 112 Half round will be a bit shallow. Look out for the 150mm.

I've got some square line guttering and it gives more root growing room, I don't use that for peas because its difficult to tip the peas out sideways in the pre-dug trench.
So I save those for plants that stay in the guttering.
