I have loads that haven't popped. I'm assuming it's the seeds, not me, because other things have germinated fine. I might buy some more seeds next year in the hope that I will therefore be starting with fresh.
I would agree but the peach ones I only just bought! I don't mind a no show if I've had them opened for a year or two. There's plenty of time though..just wish I'd started Jan now

OK...1 out of 8 Marconi seeds has germinated. The rest have still done nothing. Basques all still a no show (should probably have saved some last year, oops). Any that haven't germinated are on moist kitchen roll in a freezer bag now, last roll of the dice.

I have some basque seeds I can send you if you like.
Question about Monkey Face, to Norfolkgrey and anyone else who has grown it:
I've seen it listed on some websites as an annuum and others as a chinense. From its growth habit, flowers etc., which would you say it is? I may have left it a bit late to sow if it's a chinense. Oh well, can't be helped - I can't wind back the clock now.
I haven't grown it but only premier seeds direct has it labeled as a chinense, every other seller seems to have it labeled as an annum. I think you'll be fine. They are fresh seed too which makes a huge difference to bought seed that's been packed for a year or two.

It certainly does - a couple of the seeds are already starting to sprout their radicles only 3 days from sowing. Very impressive.
A while ago we were discussing whether to plant chillies deep like tomatoes or not.
Me being a pain in the backside and going against all other advice said it was ok to plant a bit deeper than you'd usually expect. One of my chillies is showing why. A lot earlier than expected, I must admit. They are normally a lot older before they start doing this.
This will be getting planted a lot deeper when re potting comes around
My Havana Gold is the same - very stretchy plants! Also, like yours, starting to develop roots just above soil level. I won't bury deeper than the seed leaves, though. Are you saying you will bury it right up to the leaf joint at the very top of your photo? Or the one level with the top of the label, which is what the rest of us all recommended.
