No idea what he is but I think it might be a bit special. Think it's an C. Annuum but that's as far as I've got with identifying.

      • After recommendations. I want something different for my hanging baskets next year. So not basket of fire. I'd like to move away from F1s and something with a slightly larger pod.

        • I have 2 Razzmatazz plants which I’d consider suitable for hanging baskets. If you look at the photos on google you’d say probably not for a hanging basket but mine are really nice and compact. Very dense and highly prolific. The multi coloured chillis would look good in a hanging basket.

You can see a little purple pod in one of these photos but they turn various colours while growing so I’m expecting these to be nice little plants when they’re full of different coloured chillis. Bigger pods than basket of too.

I topped mine when they were quite young which may have stopped/slowed the vertical growth but they got to this kind of height and then put on more side growth. Currently in 18cm pots.

            • I love growing chillies but have no greenhouse so I’m limited to what I can grow on my kitchen windowsill. Has anyone seen a smallish, want to say greenhouse but I’ve no room for one at the moment, maybe a grow house type thing which would be sturdy enough to survive winds and which would be suitable for growing different types of chillies?

              • I’m using two wilko wide mini plastic greenhouses for my chilli plants. They work for me, but I can’t guarantee that they won’t fall over as mine did as I had most of my plants at the top making it top heavy and topple on uneven ground. Tied to something against a wall or fence is ideal, and on even ground. I like mine, very useful

                • My slow and small late sown chilli plants finally starting to get going, I think I have a month before they get to a decent size.
Also some chillies from shop bought plug plants which have started to produce

I had a cheap plastic greenhouse which blew away, I also used this which stayed in place and didn't move in the wind. I did pin in down but think because its small the wind didn't really effect it in my garden

                    • Back from two weeks away. Two plants have suffered: Nagabrain Chocolate, which had dried out, and the Chupetino from SP. Don’t know what happened to the latter, it was healthy when I left but all leaves are shrivelled now, pods have dropped, and it looks to be a goner. Most plants still not thriving, just a few are.

Today I’ve harvested all the Nagabrain Choc pods that had any colour as well as a few SB MoA, Nebru 7 and PdN x SB7J. They are all overwintered plants. Not many seeds in them except the Nagabrain. Dehydrator is fired up and the kitchen has an overpowering smell of chillies for the first time this year. So it begins.

Realised I didn’t take a picture of the harvest. Idiot!

                        • What’s happened?

So I notice my Serrano plant was looking a little floppy upon looking at it it’s main stem seems to be deformed instead of been round it seems to have flattened and it’s pulling itself over any ideas what’s caused it?

                            • Had to look that up vc- its like the “branches” for the leaves haven’t split from the “trunk” it’s very odd! (Or maybe it’s not, but just new to me)
