  • Not much experience of growing chillies, I have a Hungarian Hot Wax plant that I rescued from the diy centre which has produced loads of fruit but they are all still yellow. I’m hoping they won’t be too spicy as OH not keen unless mild. Any recommendations for chillies with gentle heat that I can try for next season?

what software did you use for monitoring that looked very similar to weewx
Warm, yup - seldom drops below 5°C air temp but we did get a couple of ground frosts. West Penwith is almost an island in the Gulf Stream.

Software: front end is home brewed in Google's Go language running on a Raspberry Pi. Graphic display is MRTG (google it for full skinny) network reporting software coerced into reporting temperature.
I live in a part of the UK with very mild winters. Please take this into account before thinking "if he is sowing those now...."

You can eat Hungarian hot wax when they are yellow. They eventually turn orange.
Trinidad scorpion is very popular at the moment. I need to sample a couple more before I decide if it’s lives up to the hype.

        • My Hungarian Hot Wax are pretty mild, less heat than a jalapeno.

You’re not suggesting Trinidad Scorpion as a mild chilli I hope? Muckdiva’s OH will get a bit of a shock when presented with that! Do you perhaps mean Trinidad Perfume?

            • I 've never grown chillies before this year. I realised I kept buying Chilli flakes so decided to have a go. I grew 4 plants (can't remember what variety) and then swapped 2 of them with my sister who also can't remember what her variety was. I now have chillies going red.

My question is what is the best way of drying them?

                      • Another "not what it should be" - my Monkey Face (from the Seed Circle) is ripening to red. AFAIK it should be yellow.

Thanks Mitzi, that could be unfortunate

Oh that would be from NG - she always isolates too. What a shame.

#Monkey face comes in red and yellow?

Mine’s red as well ! I was quite surprised when I found it ripened to red. Never grown them before so wasn’t sure. They’re really big pods as well. Not tried one yet.
