Don't be scared - we don't bite! (Much)

If you eat chillies regularly, you can increase your heat tolerance considerably. I used to be a real wuss myself (would order a korma) but now I go for hot curries.

Grow some medium hot ones and just use a little bit instead of a whole one. After all, 7 pot peppers got their name because just one pod is sufficient to heat up 7 meals. You can also add a whole chilli to the pot when cooking and then remove it before serving, so it adds flavour but you don't actually eat it.

I'm a wuss, my OH is more of a wuss and my my two boys who are now no longer teenagers won't eat any spice what so ever!!!

But I can't stop growing chillies
Lemon drop isnt mild but I like the flavour - I use them whole as Mitzi says and remove them before eating. But chutneys, jams, vinegars etc can take a few in batch cooking. If you have a jar or two of chilli jam to gift at Christmas/ birthdays etc it makes people smile. I often just use a small bit in a sauce or even mix with mayo and tomato sauce to give a kick to a prawn cocktail, lots of ways to use them other than fresh and bunged in a super hot curry.

The one I have looks great, has fruited fabulously but there isn't much heat - I ate the pod whole and I really didn't like the flavour, nothing like I was expecting.

I am going to get some fresh seed in to try again.

What's the difference between peach & pink habs?
This is my pink hab from last year. Does it look the same as your peach.

That is the Chilli season started. Just setup my propagator and heated bed along with grow lights and timer.

Last year Chris gave me a selection of seeds with a Yellow Scotch Bonnet, Orange Habanero and Elysium Oxide in the mix. None of these grew... I think this was because of the propagator was only at 20C. Now sitting at 24, but could up temperature it advised.

Going to sow my other C.annum seeds during February due to space restrictions.

Could well have been old seed, not saved correctly etc. Don't always blame the heat.

Well mine looks the same - but I always label my chillies and toms well....it definitely says peach!

Peach hab is supposed to be hot. Maybe I had a pink from you?

Our pictures do look very similar.

I did send you a pink hab I just checked the list of who had what (found it earlier on when looking for something else)

I initially thought they were hot after trying a bit of a fresh one. But I used them to make chilli & lime sauce. It have very little heat but lovely habanero flavour came through. ( think I was just being a wuss when I tried the fresh one )

I suggest a pink habanero - should overwinter ( mine is thriving so far ) it's a lovely looking plant. Will give you more fruit than a pepper and it's not hot!

Ive got the Dorset naga , a chocolate Hab and a lemon drop overwintering ...so I shouldn't complain about a mild one really. It's a fabulous colour.

I'm complaining I wanted to compare the two. Because it look very peach for pink if you know what I mean. I'm guessing peach is a hot hot hab?
