Not moaning just pointing out the obvious fact it's March already!! how did that happen?!
I find getting the chillies into their final pots and position much more fun

    • I don't like potting on into big pots....I could dabble in the green house every day with seedlings and taking cuttings.

      • Not my favourite time. Seed sowing and seedlings coming through, first pods setting, then ripening and harvest are my three favourite times of the season. This is an in between time where I'm just trying to keep everything healthy and growing and worrying about running out of room before everything can go outdoors.

More like three months before mine can go out.

          • No, so long as they germinate within a reasonable time. Cayennes have a shorter seed to crop time than many other chillies.

Yeah we've all learned the hard way or know someone that has. Some fleabay sellers are very good, trustworthy seed suppliers but just as many if not more are not so trustworthy.
My white ghost seedlings are looking a little unusual! Seeds were a Christmas gift via fleabay.

When did you sow your reapers?

Pepper King I do hope you haven't got yourself an "ebay reaper" which are usually cayenne or similar. Are you experienced at terminating superhots? It's difficult to know whether they have a poor germination rate unless we know your conditions are ideal.

Cayennes sown now should be fine. Warmth is the key - do you have a warm airing cupboard, Sky tv box, or an old fridge that gives out heat at the back?

                      Tell us more, SP!

Having trouble with my white ghosts too. Mixed up my labels with one as it's clearly a baccatum from its appearance. Hoping that the plant labelled baccatum which looks chinense is it. The other is just not growing. Tiny seed leaves and struggling to produce any true leaves. Was pricked out weeks ago. But still alive so I am reluctant to chuck it.

I'll take a picture later, I'd like a second opinion. It's looking a little to hairy for my liking!

Any ideas? At least it's not going to be just a cayenne being that hairy.

                          • Odd looking - I think you have a labradoodle in the plant form.

                            • I finally got around to potting on my chillis... Cayenne - turns out I got 150 plants! About 50 hopscotch. I'm going to need to do some plant trading I reckon!

Not a clue but it’s intriguing. Presumably the seeds were light coloured so it’s not a pubescens. Maybe some kind of wild?

Would love to see what it is.
