Decided to top my Thai dragon chilli today as an experiment- leaving the others untouched.

My first Dorset Naga pod has set - exciting stuff! The plant is still quite small because it's been restricted to a small pot but now it's in an 8x8" square pot (about 6l?) still on the windowsill. It will eventually be going in a 20l pot in the neighbour's greenhouse.

I see you have others that you left untopped - so I guess it will be really interesting to see the contrast between those and this one. OK, I take it back - it's definitely worth doing as an experiment to compare the growth and productivity of the topped and untopped plants.
Keep us informed, please!

Haha! Yeah it was getting too tall and in the way on the kitchen windowsill, and it was so tall the sun was getting blocked by the window frame on the fan light, so needed to be controlled.
That and the curiosity. Everyone on forums that seem US focused (such as Reddit) where I guess they get a sunnier growing season, unanimously agree topping is worth doing.
I guess the aim is bushier, stronger plant with more chillies, all the while not being too unwieldy.
I have 6 others I've left to do their thing, I took the risk
