Watered everything in the greenhouse.
Potted on some herbs.
Dug some potatoes.
Picked strawberries and raspberries.
Tied in some dahlias that are in danger of breaking as they are top heavy,
Dead headed the sweetpeas.
Done done weeding.
Took side shoots from the tomatoes.
All in all, a busy day and feeling tired now.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Watered and weeded.
Mulched my beans.
Planted some more leeks.
Dug up another willow, and fully excavated another, but couldn't get it out of the ground as the tap root was too thick to cut through with the spade. I'll have to take a saw next time.

First proper stint down at the plot for a couple of weeks. Weeded about half of it, tied gh toms to their supports, harvested as much veg as we can eat in next 2 days, and planted put some asparagus seedlings I grew from seed plus a couple of trays of other stuff.
Should sleep well tonight ;-)

Firat chance of doing much at the plot for a couple of weeks.
Harvested the Oerprie https://youtu.be/xJu87LUdY8c and a few spuds https://youtu.be/f52HJ3L0D-8
Also got a box of strawberries (a bit of slug damage but no bird damage so far) a box of raspberries and an ikea bag of broad beans.

Yesterday I mowed the lawn at the plot and spread the clippings under my sweetcorn plants. I'm enjoying having the lawn, the constant supply of mulch is great, and it's a good flat space to do things like fold up netting etc. It'll be a nice spot to sit and relax as well, if I ever actually stop when i'm down there.
Took the netting off the cherry tree - it only has two cherries on it, hardly worth the potential risk to wildlife it causes
Picked some gooseberries and redcurrants.
Weeded here and there, watered the stuff in the tunnel.He-Pep!

Mix of days.....
Dug up more charlottes; picked broad beans; strawberries (just a handful, ate them, and about expired from the warm sweetness); a raspberry (from a random self-grown summer fruiting cane); lettuce; rocket; onions. Cut some dahlias (Totally Tangerine), verbena and sweetpeas, one of which is so scented you can smell it feet away.
Mowed the grass. Tied up sunflowers, a couple of squashes, some sweet peas. Gave everything a good soak. Gave everything a good soak again. Despaired of ever getting on top of the weeds, because, watering.
Picked the blackcurrants and ended up with about 1kg, which became blackcurrant jelly. SO PLEASED with this, because the bushes were dreadfully abused and just heeled in for a couple of years, then planted out but too close (I will move them this year). Plus making jam takes time and requires periods of unbroken attention, and I don't have much of the first and very rarely get to do the second.
Unbelievable sweetness and flavour.
Staring down the barrel of the summer holidays, now, which means a drastic reduction of plot time. *deep breaths* We can do this.
