  • What a gorgeous, GAWJUS day! Shame my plots look so awful. Cleared grass away to reveal the rhubarb, dug over half a bed, repotted some lillies and resowed the seeds to replace my toasted seedlings. Too hot to clear the greenhouse so that's on the cards for tomorrow.

    • Pruned my lavender hedge.
      Raked over the front garden.
Potted up a few dahlia tubers.
Rakex up the last of the winter leaves.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Today I did some long LONG overdue weeding and mulching of flower bed. It was hard going and I only got a small area done.
Seems like a waste of time when I could be growing something edible...

        • Planted out six Spring greens seedlings into a raised bed outside, and netted. I'm hoping these will crop slightly later than the ones in the tunnel. Checked my pond for frogspawn... nothing. I'm so excited for frogspawn

          • Potted up the 11 (there should have been 12 but I only got 11) bare root Elsanta strawberries and sowed half trays each of 4 different tomato varieties.

                      • Planted 40 onion sets into a 10in. pot sowed some begonia, petunias loin seeds, thought about tidying up the greenhouse, fortunately that thought passed quickly now in for a cuppa
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Yesterday reinstated the pond at the allotted space ready for Freya to start filling it

Moved a gooseberry bush that was in the middle of the new bed location (old chicken run), now have adopted a currant (not sure which colour and a gooseberry), pruning next.

                              • I've potted on my lima beans who are well over 1 foot tall now, and sowed some more.
Sowed some Swedish brown beans (apologies - I just realised I haven't posted the promised beans out yet!)
Potted on 150 odd cayennes and 50 hopscotch
Potted on chard and a few cabbages
                                Sowed some flower seeds
Strengthened an old wooden bookshelf that was desperately needed for trays of pots
Searched the house for more trays - even used the tray in the dog cage!
