  • I cleaned, washed and scrubbed the inside of one tunnel. It was quite pleasant between hail showers trying to deafen me.
Just waiting for it to dry. Then I'll get it ready for seed sowing and mystery chilli housing.

    • Hospital

Today I continued hardening off BBs and lupins

And visited RustyLady in hospital to feed her, as she's lost all feeling in, and control of, her hands and legs. She's bedridden really, but can see a corner of the garden from her bed

She donated all her many seeds and stacks of books to other allotmenteers

That's nice, I'll pass it on. It's permanent though, no chance of recovering her mobility or use of hands

                  • It’s been raining cats and dogs here today, so all I have done was measure up the allotment greenhouse and design a 3 tier shelf, and take a trip to the wood recycling place.
Planning an evening in front of the tv making paper pots ready for some sowing in between showers tomorrow.

                    • New door made for the green house on the plot.
It's a bit of a miracle it's survived the recent winds. Built by an atheist it possibly proves there is no god.

                      • Dug over and weeded the potatoe bed ready for hopefully planting next week.

Checked on the gooseberry bushes and raspberries that were put in a couple of weeks ago, all are starting to bud up so looks good.

Found another 20 panes of broken greenhouse glass that need to be removed from the plot

                        • Potted on some mystery chillies and moved them to the Polytunnel.
Potted on all the random seedling from the advent sowing. They're not random anymore, they all have labels now.
Weeded and added fresh compost to the asparagus.

                          • I shovelled more horse manure, picked up a couple of pallets, laid more cardboard and covered with manure. I've nearly reached the end of the plot, so the bed is nearly 90ft long. Next weekend will finish it I think!
I cleared out two massive bags of plastic that someone chucked in to my new plot's compost bags and brought them home for binning. Cut back a lot of bramble in the far corner of the plot, in the hope of removing the net fence between my two plots. So windy, but sunny for the most part - lovely day

                            • Finished filling my last raised/terraced bed, weeded the gh whilst sheltering from a hail shower, weeded a bit, hid in gh again, weeded some more, mulched a couple of soft fruit bushes, topped 2 beds with manure, sowed peas, beetroot, radishes and carrots (all under fleece), and some salad, artichokes, chillies and peppers in the GH. Definitely feels like I have had a productive day :-D

                              • In memory of Keith Flint I burnt off loads of rotten wood from the chairpersons plot.
                                - They had given me permission - indeed they were adamant that I addressed their desires

Painted new door on GH and the newly constructed pallet box for pots...
