  • Topsoil from home to the plot - 4 potatoe bags filled and stuffed into the car - rinse and repeat 3 times.
Garlic planted in latest cleared bed.
Scared new plot holder by talking to her and offering help if needed... (she was with two friends)

She might be the new allotment holder on gardener's world..... ha

              • I spread a bit more cardboard, more horse manure, built a door way for the polytunnel, dug a trench down one side of the tunnel, to trench down the plastic. Just one more side to do, and I'm ready for the plastic cover. How exciting!

I tidied up the poly tunnel which was a horrible job but I have only myself to blame. On the upside look what I found!

There are a couple more lying about my garden too.
I also earthed up some potatoes in pits with leafmould and potted on a couple of tomatoes and cucumbers.
I planted one tomato in the polytunnel bed but I know it’s far too early.

                    • So I have six trowels and just two arms- one of which isn’t fully functional due to recent surgery.

                      • I hope your arm recovers quickly so you can use at least three of the trowels at a time!

                        • Sowed 16 chitted sweetcorn seeds in root trainers. Far too cold and wet to do anything else!

                          • did a bit of greenhouse pottering on Saturday, got rid of a few seeds that hadn't decided to get going.

Sunday had an afternoon at the plot with the small person.
Hoed and mulched one bed, hoed the green manure down in another. Small person had great fun swinging hoe bigger than him around. Amazingly I came back with all my fingers...

Then he saw a fire on someone else's plot, so wanted one.
Lit a fire in the rain with damp wood and damp newspaper first go
