Dug 2 stalks of potatoes, still to soon, I need more patience. The spuds are very small but like lovely round shape and soft skin, will steam nicely.

Yesterday, I liquid fed the Triffids (climbing beans) & the tomato. The Triffids are doing very canny & already some fair-size beans are appearing - so they will be added to the list of successes. The tomato plant is doing ok - touch wood. I just need some sun to ripen the tomatoes that are already present.
Today, I started to cut back the herbs that have started to 'gallop away'. The herb pots will definitely need a tidy-up. I checked the 2nd earlies. Nothing there in the sacks, but nice dry compost, that will need to be sieved & fertilizer to be added, to be reused. But not to be used for potatoes again. So, it looks like I am going to have a fun-packed Bank Holiday Weekend this weekend :O.
I am already starting to plan for what I am going to grow over the Autumn/Winter & the Spring

My Weedy Wednesday hour attacking Hogweed turned into a full day! I have filled a green waste bin with hogweed, nettles and brambles and chopped and dropped all the fruited loganberry and raspberry canes that were swamping Bed 27. Still a lot of clearance to do but at least I can walk through the jungle.

Spent most of the day in town, needs must.
This evening, watered and weeded.
Picked lots of toms and salad leaves.
Dead headed and saved seeds from sweetpeas, dahlias and tomatoes.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I went to see a man about a house. A house with a smaller garden than it looked in the photos. I thanked said man for letting me in, but seeing as he's been offered full asking price and I was going to severely underbid that, this was going nowhere.
Then I took Effie down the beach for a walk, just around the corner from said house. Gorgeous. The newly started hunt goes on

Today I watered and fed the Tomatoes, Apple Trees, Rhubarb, Herb boxes and raised bed. I also finally got round to planting out my leek plants that had been sitting in a bag for a couple of weeks. For reference, leaving your leek plants in a bag with a little water in the bottom is fine in the short term ( a day or so) but leaving them in there for a couple of weeks doesn't work. They begin to rot down and leave an horrendous smell on your hands that not even fire can remove...
I also ordered my Garlic ready for autumn planting."Bulb: potential flower buried in Autumn, never to be seen again."

I only spent 30 minutes in the backyard this morning - early I might add (before 10am :O ) . So, I fed the climbing beans (The Triffids) & the tomato plant. I even gave a little feed to one of the herb pots that I tidied up yesterday. And watered the rest of the pots. I then had a very late breakfast, then I started the propagator off with some herbs. These herbs will be for indoors. Propagator is now up & ready on the dining room windowsill. Hopefully, the moggies will not knock it off.
