        • Saturday 20th

Up early to allotment to sow seeds (already 25c in greenhouse!!!)

          Tray of Verbena bonariensis

          4 x Winter Squash ' Waltham Butternut'

          4 x Squash 'Uchiki kuri'

3 x 'Julie's Squash ~ a mystery variety which my penpal sent me (she couldn't remember name either ) She grows it on her allotment and says it's tasty so I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes

Would have sown more but ran out of seed compost!

Finished off sieving soil onto asparagus bed.

Left after 2.5hrs with shades of red on arms and face Greenhouse said it was 36c in there!!!
If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

                • Got some beans in today: cobra, scarlet emperor, borlotti and some Lima beans I found in the bottom of the seed box. Popped some khol rabbi, beetroot and some more pak choi in, as well as sowing some nasturtiums.
Lots of transplants of various veg too
There are no gardening mistakes, only learning curves

No matter how big the job or overwhelming the task, a good dose of sheer obstinacy and bloody-mindedness should see you through

                      • Sown some broadbeans

And sown lots of old seeds ( or they will be next time I get to sowing ).
Very VC style mixed them all in a jug and scattered them on the raspberry bed.

EDIT The latest technique didn't work - 164 beans are furry! Wont do that again in a hurry.

Beetroot sown conventionally in modules so its in with a chance.

Yesterday I sowed lots of melons, now in the propagator.

                          SP, I'm proud of you.

                            • Sadly the one thing I was really looking forward too has failed to germinate anything, my mammoth trench celery, I followed advice given and nothing, I now unexpectedly have a whole raised bed empty that might just end up full of beans.

                              • Sown more because germination wasn't good enough for my liking.
