            • A handful of mangetout.
A whole bolting chinese cabbage. Even the bolting ones give a lot of leaves, and the taste and texture are pretty much the same.
I also picked some whitecurrants, gooseberries, raspberries and alpine strawberries and made a summer pudding with them.

              • 4 Courgettes, including the first yellow one.
Some stray potatoes, unexpected treasures, that have grown from oddments left in the soil last year. Disovered whilst harvesting the courgettes.
Four "spring onions" - off-shoots from a "goodness knows what" bunching onion I grew last year.
One Climbing French bean - every harvest starts with one.
                Tomatoes all shapes and colours.
A few raspberries and mangetout, eaten as I mooched.

                • Mixed salad leaves.
                  Garlic chives.
                  Tomatoes.
                  Strawberries.
                  Raspberries.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                          • First few raspberries picked and eaten on the hoof, first year for the canes, so not a lot of fruit this year, but a lot of good canes growing for next year. Strawberries much the same, mostly new plants in the new bed, got some nice fruit , but this year is more about establishing the plants, most of the runners have been removed to aid better growth on the parent plants.
Sadly my apple trees are not looking good and at least one may be removed, canker is quite bad on the cooker, pity as Howgate wonder has proved to be my favourite of the three.

                            • Harvested my first ever radishes today. They were the first seeds sown on our first plot and having sautéed hem in butter, it's been the first time I've enjoyed eating radish too, so lots of firsts!
