Today's haul: courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, french beans, sweetcorn, beetroot and a bunch of grapes. Also grabbed onions and potatoes out of the shed.

          • Today, I harvested some green beans - around 6 or 7. There's still some smaller ones 'trying' to get a little bigger

Kale for me also, my first of the season, it’s dwarf curly kale I think. I had it with roast spuds, burgers, onion gravy and fried mushrooms

                  • 1.6kg of plums.

I also weighed all my onions which I picked a couple weeks ago. Came to 7kg in total. Not bad, considering I didn't plant them until May and the sets were minuscule (50p a bag from Lidl).

                      • Some bolting onions. Still usable if you pull the middle out.

                        • Cucumber, 3 cherry tomatoes and a good handful of runner beans.

This is the kind of scale harvest I enjoy on busy days - something to eat, but not a big workload of processing to do. (We've had a few big harvests recently and while I love the food, I find it hard with 2 small children to find the time to process it all!)
