  • One of the possibly-Yellow-Mushroom seems to be ripening to red so er...

Also I tasted the not-Goats-Weed and it was bloomin' hot! The pod had pretty thin walls and was quite soft and juicy. Pretty sure the other red one is a Fresno.

I think we’ve got quite a few crosses in the mix. I’m hopeful that the sugar rush & purple tiger are true to type.
I’ve got one of the round pods to try. Ripened to a very bright red. Hoping the taste test might narrow down our options again.

      • Still growing well. Lots of different chillis although none ripe yet. Will post some pics later. Was going to ask if there was anything I could do to avoid some of the chillis dropping off. You know after they flower some of the growing fruit seem to just fall off. It’s not been too bad but there have been a few including on these Baccatum ones. Any suggestions ?

Do you mean very small fruit fall off just after the flowers have died back?
You always get a few of those. They just haven’t been pollinated.
You could give the plants a gentle shake every day to help pollination. Leave more doors & windows open to let in more pollinators and have a marigold or nasturtium in a pot next to them to encourage more pollinators.

          • Yes at the small fruit stage. Have got all the vents and the door open all day at the moment given the hot weather will try shaking them too. Thanks

Only reason I’m think one of those is the little extra lump growing on the front pod is brown. Lighter is for scale.
I'm growing Ethiopian Berbere this year, one plant outside and two still in the house. They are all reluctant to set pods; it's quite a disappointment. One set but dropped off a week or so later. Think I've got a couple set now so I'll take pics when they reach full size.

                      • Well I guess we can see what colour it ripens to.

It's hot but not nearly as hot as the not-Goat's-weed. I am leaning towards De Arbol...though maybe they're all just hybrids

That does look scary. None of my scary looking ones are even close to ripening.

It's hot enough to make me slobber and my forehead sweat a bit, but still not as hot as the not-Goat's-Weed. The heat lasts a good while but never gets uncomfortable.
