  • You're as much of an expert as I am
That's all I'm doing looking for slight differences in leaf shape, colour, stem and hairiness.
I'll probably be proven wrong when they've grown up. They'll probably all be sweet peppers

ID:	2383307Wow. Looking good. I have no idea how big the final pots for mine will be. Been getting a bit concerned that they aren’t really growing much. All still in their first pot in the house. What do you think? Is there something I should be doing - apart from being a bit more patient!

        • Don't worry I've got quite a few that don't seem to be growing at all. In fact I'm getting close to composting some of them . I probably won't because I'm soft and they're chillies .
They are all looking good. Front row second from the right looks interesting well to me anyway.

          • Here are my six. The tidgy one had a curious stem rot half way up; thought it was a gonner but it's made an excellent recovery.

              • Please do

Think mine are all Capsicum annuum. Hopefully the hairy one is a Goat's Weed or interesting Jalapeno, as Mitzi suggested.

                • Here's the first two that germinated out of all of them and the only two tiny seeds to germinate.

                  • This one is one of the biggest I've got and flowering. I thought it was quite interesting. I thought the leaves looked a bit darker, longer and pointier than normal. But looking at that baby inside the flower it's looking very sweet pepper like now, but will wait and see.

I've got a few of these as well. The refusal to grow brigade . Standard plant label for scale.

                    • So using my highly scientific method of categorising based on seed colour and size this is what I have got.

Pic 1 - med to large bright yellow seeds
Pic 2 - 2 on left were medium darker yellow. 2 on right medium yellow with red tinge
Pic 3 - the medium yellows. Some of them look quite different from each other.
Pic 4 - small yellow seeds
Pic 5 - two on left tiny yellow on right are tiny brown.
Pic 6 - medium orange. This includes the one that started with dark leaves. The newer leaves are just dark around the edges
Pic 7 - 2 from the seed dust. Must have been tiny seeds. On the right some where I got mixed up when potting on. Not sure what they are - done are small yellow I think.

                        • They're all looking good. It's getting quite exciting watching them develop their own personalities.
Looking forward to seeing if I can actually identify any of them when they have pods on.

                          • Yes there is some variation between them Is it leaf size and shape that is the main things to look out for?

                            • Noticing a bit of yellowing on the leaves in the last week. Must watch that. Assuming it might be a watering issue. Have been trying to let them dry out between watering but did notice last night some were really dry. It’s awkward I think to manage when they are still in such small pots. Feels like they could do with a bit of a compost refresh.

At the moment while they're all still quite small. Then hopefully you'll get some variation in flowers. White, white with a bit of green, purple. And if they flower single or in clusters.

Repot in fresh compost or start giving them a weak feed. Feeding full strength once they start flowering.
Lots of mine started yellowing, but have improved a lot after being repotted and moved to the tunnel.
There probably not appreciating being in the tunnel today though. It's a bit cooler that it has been. They've had their fleece on all day.
