    • A little update because I've not mentioned mystery chillies for several days

I'm very excited about this one. It's growing very well. It's starting to look like a purple tiger to me or something like that.

I'm having second thoughts about jalapeño for this one. I've got two plants like this. Especially after seeing toomanytommytoes photos. But my pods don't seem to be as dark a green as those.

Then there's this little fella, no idea what he is.

        • I'm going nuts. I thought I'd done 2 posts with photos this morning. Turns out I only did one

This is one from my tiny seeds. Never grown anything like this before. Looking forward to seeing what it's pods are like.

            • This is fun. If nothing else by the end of the year I’ll have learned to look for the subtle differences between chilli plants. Have definitely got different types it’s just whether the chillis end up being interesting. Noticed tonight that one of mine has a darker stem and you can see the difference in the way that the buds form. Some are sprouting off the stems others seem to be coming from the middle of the plant.

              • It’s so interesting to see them all coming along!! Love that some plants grew from dust!!

Could it be a baccatum? Obviously you'll know as soon as the flowers open and I'll turn out to be completely wrong! I don't think I'm any good at this chilli identification lark. I'm loving seeing them all develop, though.

                    • I think a baccatum too.It has a leaf very similar to my lemon drop plant.

                      • I'm learning so much doing this. It's brilliant.
I'm taking my complete chilli pepper book outside now, see if I can identify some species.

The idiots guide to chillies , think it's already been done

Another book I need, I think

Although I could have a chapter on which varieties to choose
If you like the name, buy it.
Is it hot? Yes. Buy it.
Does it really matter if you know the species? No.

just add some pictures and my book is complete. Jam packed with all of my chilli knowledge

ID:	2384100Now have open flowers on 2 mystery chillis. The first with a bit if a google search seems like a Frutescens type I reckon. White flower and the stem bends just at the end. The other I’m more confused about. Might be a baccatumn type as the fruits are hanging down and the petals of the flower are green and white. I’ve posted pics. Does this sound a reasonable guess?

                              • First one I'm not sure about. Second one I think you're right with C. Baccatum .

                                They're looking good.
