Am liking how on this one the fruit is growing up the way. The better weather in the last week seems to be moving them on a bit. Can I just check I read that on c.annum the filament is not purple. Is that right?

It think so. But they are purple if the petals are purple. Clear as mud !

      • The more I look at some of my mystery chillies the more I'm convinced they are crosses.
The plant I was getting excited about because it had a purple tinge to the end of the petals. Only had that on the first 3 flowers . The rest of them are just white. Hoping some of the not yet opened flowers will have the purple again. Not holding my breath. Still saving seeds from it. Next years plant could be completely different .

        • #1 de Arbol/Ring of Fire/Costeno Amarillo/Golden Cayenne?

#2 This seems to be their final size. Doesn't match any of the annuums in the mix and the plant doesn't appear to have chinense characteristics. A true mystery!

#3 The plant that almost died. Shishito/Padron/Aleppo?

          #4 Slooooooowly ripening.

#5 Fresno? Was thinking Jalapeno but the pods point upwards.

              • Any idea what it could be? It's the only one for which I have no inkling.

                  No idea!
Any chance of a photo of the whole plant ?

                  • Found another pod with a different shape. Could it be Yellow Mushroom?

                    • Yellow mushroom is looking like a very likely contender for that one. Very cool!

                      • Really happy with the mix of types I've got! Hoping #3 is Shishito as it was something I've been wanting to grow and I've already got 2 Padrons on the go. It's much a bushier and shorter plant than the Padrons.

                        • Still think with that huge calyx it looks a bit like a bubblegum but if the plant looks more annuum then yellow mushroom is more likely. Of course, early pods can often be different from the mature / mid-season ones.

                          • It's finally ripened! Perhaps too small for Cascabel. Satan's Kiss or Dalle Khursani?
