Anyone else getting flowers with a purple tint on the petals ? I’ve got 3 or 4 plants with them one now. But not every flower on the plant has it. They are definitely different varieties doing it as well. It’s one of the thing making me thing they’re not growing true

      • My suspected Goat's Weed is probably not Goat's Weed after all. The pod has ripened straight from green to red whereas I believe Goat's Weed should go green -> black -> red.

        • Here are my guesses...I only have pictures of the Annuums so no idea what any of the Chinenses etc. look like.

          #1 twisty with a bum tip...not sure!
          #2 Numex Big Jim/Numex Joe E Parker?
          #3 Cherry Bomb/Satan's Kiss/Dalle Khursani?
          #4 Purple Serrano?
          #5 too early to tell
#6 can't see any Annuums with that kind of texture except maybe Ohnivec
#7 not too sure but the curling and thickness narrows it down somewhat (Maule's Red perhaps?)
          #8 Chinense?
          #9 Chinense?
#10 lots of pods which point upwards and start off waxy yellow...Sparkler?

          • Thank toomanytommytoes. I like your guesses. Not sure any of the pods that look like Chinese actually are. The plants aren’t growing like Chinese! The flowers all seem to be individual not growing in clumps which is a Chinese trait.

            • #1 Not-Goat's-Weed-After-All
#2 Thought it was a Fresno but it doesn't have the pointy tip. Now I am leaning towards Jalapeno

Also I tasted the spherical chilli and it is about as hot as my red jalapenos last year.

              • 1. We thought this was likely to be some type of Baccatum
                2. No idea
                3. No idea
                4. Looks like it is yellow?
                5. This fruit doesn’t seem to be getting any bigger. It was the first chilli to develop.

                  • 6. This has a purple stem and looks like the chilli is starting to darken
                    7. When you had asked about white flowers with a tinge of purple was this what you meant? This was the plant that had purple first leaves although all the later ones have are a slight purple leaf edge.

                        • Too early to be sure for most of them, but if it's still that waxy yellow when bigger #4 could be Banana Chilli, Sweet Banana Pepper, Caloro, Santa Fe Grande or Hungarian Hot Wax.

Interesting that we all have some spherical chillies!

The purple flower has opened. No idea what it is but it’s very pretty.

                              • This one possibly pasilla bajio or Ethiopian brown Berber or ancho grande.
Only reason I’m think one of those is the little extra lump growing on the front pod is brown. Lighter is for scale.
