Soil Blocker

Was watching one of Charles Dowding's videos on youtube this morning and he mentioned 'soil blockers' as an alternative to cell trays. I have looked it up and come across a video from Gardener's World showing them last year (As I had no idea they existed), and they look a great idea since I am trying to cut back on the plastic I am using.

Has anyone had any experience with them?

MarkH, I have a soil blocker which I have used for onion seeds the set I have allows me to make 20 small blocks which were then be transplanted into larger blocks when required, at present they are growing quite well, and I am quite happy with the blocker, but I also have a number of plastic inserts which I will use up first, though I will be using the blocker for cuttings toward the end of summer, as I had commented to Snoop the mix I used of 3 compost 2 soil and 1 course sand could I recon, be moulded by hand to whatever size you want, get the mix right and you will save a bit of money
