Something or someone has pulled out all my labels to the pots containing squashes, pumpkins and courgettes, sown loads this year, real mixed bag.
I have no idea which seed tray is which, I suppose it'll be fun watching what grows
I built a greenhouse especially for the trombos to climb up, i think it'll be best if i sow some more this afternoon

No worries, I harvested my first beth alpha cucumber yesterday. I sowed them in early march and they are about 5ft but not doing well outdoors. They are surviving though. I am now sowing another batch

Mine are nothing like that size!! I'm impressed.
How and where are you growing them - I need tips.

So far 2 Lemon crystal and 2 Wautoma cucumbers have germinated, also 1 Black beauty and 1 French heritage courgette (from a mystery mix bag).

Still waiting for one more each, as well as the squashes delicata Cornell's and Thunder.

Also found some mystery curcubita seedlings on the allotment, possibly where the Atena courgettes were last year. If they survive the next couple of weeks they can stay.

Squashes having slightly larger, rounder and darker green seed leaves than courgettes (and the trombo, which are a type of courgette), their first true leaves are usually a darker green, too, so that's one way of telling them apart. Not sure about pumpkins as I've never grown them.

My resown courgette seeds (Jemmer and Green Bush) are finally showing signs of life. I was worried I was courgette jinxed and wasn't going to germinate any this year. My spaghetti squash seedlings are romping away nicely in the greenhouse and my grafted cucumber is doing well now it's in its forever home in the greenhouse raised bed. I've fed up the bed with rotted leaf mulch, chicken pellets and rotted horse manure, compost and some wood ash too. I had blight last year so had to clear out scrub up and start again from scratch. It may be cockiness caused by things all appearing well at the moment but I thought I'd give melons a go this year as well, seeing as so far spaghetti squash is doing well for a first try and I'm now eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Cantelupe melon seeds - the plan being to grow in the conservatory well away from everything else.
Biting off more than I can chew since 1983

Have people got Squash in the ground yet? I'm going away for a few days end of next week so wondering if I can plant them out. Looks like it's still going to be a bit chilly for a few days yet.

No, mine aren't ready yet, and the forecast is too dire... but I know some people will successfully risk it, I'm sure!

No, definitely too soon. I'm in for a few cold nights in the days ahead, and my plants aren't really big enough yet, anyway.
These last two years of delayed planting due to initial sowings failing has taught me that they are best planted out at the start of June, anyway.
