Trailing cucurbits - which are the longest trailers?

I have an idea after reading an article (I think I am doing to much of that!) about growing squash up and onto the roof of a garden shed, the idea being the fruits get lots of sun/heat.
Which varieties co squash or ridge cucumber might grow long enough to work?

Of the squash I grow, butternuts generally starts slowly but when (if?) it warms up it can move pretty fast. They would enjoy the heat but would not be pleased if they became exposed to early frosts (as would most of them). Pumpkins grow fast but not sure they need any extra heat. Lady Godiva always grows long and fast for me but are only grown for the seeds. Blue banana is another that has grown over hedges and fences with a flavour similar to butternut.

Where are you growing? up here in Scotland no chance, but if you are in southern England any of the ridge cukes might well work

Most squashes would be happy to grow as wild as they like, cucumbers too (and they'd definitely be happier to climb on their own).
