I grow two varieties...tender and true and hollow crown, both very nice imo

I grow Hollow Crown and very happy with the taste. All parsnips taste better after they have had a frost.

I don't have ideal soil for root veg, so I grow Guernsey, a half-long type. Not pretty, but great flavour. I read somewhere that Alan Titchmarch rates them as the best for roasting. Probably back in the dim and distant days before the introduction of new F1s. They're still good, though.

Student. Quite yellow flesh, and a bit prone to canker, but very flavoursome.
