I've done burger all too! I've got a handful of potatoes chitting away and some onions and shallot sets spouting in small pots in the greenhouse.....but nowt else!
I've partly been holding off to see what Neil is planning to do with the plot this year as we need to demolish the 'shed' (more like a rotten paper-thin box keeling over) and empty & dismantle the raised beds from the old polytunnel and then Neil can build his shed on that area....as well as a chicken run for me
I'm popping back into the council offices tomorrow though and not taking any excuses....I've been promised a second plot and I intend to chase it up (been waiting since 15th January!) and then iI can grow my crops on this plot this year and leave the original plot empty and concentrate on redesigning and rebuilding everything. If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

Forgot to add......I'm planning to sow a few seeds this week - sunflowers, tomatoes, cucumber (in the house!), cosmos, a few other veg like cabbage, lettuce etc It's just been SO cold lately but last week, instead of panicking, I promised myself mid-April to start sowingIf I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

My mini g-house is full of pots on watering trays and germination is doing very well. Having said that, the easterly winds here have not done the soil temps any good but at least the ground is drying up! I've still got to get my pots and onion sets in but my dad always put his pots in on Easter Sunday so I'm not really worrying. The seasons seem to have changed over the years where you had to get things sown or plated by a certain time, but now they seem to be cropping later in the year. I'm going to take it as it comes and see what happens.I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

Same here - no way could I plant potatoes on St Patrick's Day now as it's almost guaranteed to be baltic cold, snowing or the ground just plain frozen!
I tend to now go with the little voices in my head and my gut feeling Both are saying this week so over the next couple of days that's what I'll be doing. Potatoes in, seeds sown etc For once I don't feel like I'm leaving it too lateIf I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

Right... a bit of mojo back.
3 rows of spuds planted. Went to the seed box to plant some out only to find seed box has been removed from the fridge and inside of the tin was mouldy with many seeds ruined... someone had removed seed tin to make way for food and i reckon condensation had formed inside the metal tin and ruined the seeds...
So, as a family we just panted everything from pretty much every packet with the thought process that if it doesn't grow we haven't lost anything and if it does the girls can setup a stall outside the house and sell some plants on!
The potting shed bench is now groaning under the weight... asparagus, leeks, lettuces of various varieties, brassicas by the 100's... sunflowers... squash, peas, you name it, it's in there... we shall see what comes up.
Thanks again all! With hindsight i think it was the weather forecast getting me down more than anything else!

I think the cold weather HAS had something to do with it Amazing how busy it was at our allotment site this evening (6.30pm) because it's still a lovely sunny day
