The roots of a mature asparagus can go down five feet so to move it you'd have to trim them back a fair bit. Asparagus relocates ok in the dormant season but I don't think it'd thank you for moving it just now. Look around, maybe there will be some seedlings you could move without disturbing the roots, asparagus does spread like weeds from seed.
