Total of 8 cucumbers space master - plant now mildewed so coming out
Not 100% certain effort = results in this case. Wil try again next season
Yellow courgettes total 10 so far - very tasty and many more on their way
Will start earlier next season
Stepped on a squash hidden in the undergrowth. Hoping it will heal over as read somewhere they do?

Picked my first two cucumbers today.
I wasnt going to bother as it was so late.
No space in the greenhouse so I planted them against my south facing wall.
They took off really quickly.

Can’t give you exact numbers of cukes - probably 15 or so, combination of mini munch and iznik.

Courgettes (defender) picked 8 and then reached “peak courgette” and could not face any more. I honestly don’t know why I bother growing them. Especially because yesterday I picked and ate 1st ever patty pan squash to find it is firmer, tastier and much more beautiful than any courgette I have grown in the past.

Now I find myself thinking: other than the ease of growing courgettes, what’s the point? Just patty pans for me next year I think..
