Inside a polytunel.....plastic raised beds 1m square, there's maybe only 5 or 6 inches between them, enough for me to get a foot in if I need to reach the back.
The bed on the left has sweetcorn, the bed on the right has Sun Gold tomatoes. I've just seen something that says corn and tomatoes shouldn't be planted beside each other.
Is this because of the demands on nutrients therefore separate beds would be ok, or is it because they affect each other in close proximity once grown?
I don't have much leeway, I could pull the sweetcorn bed down maybe 50/60cms and put a small pot in between them with something else in it to sperate them a little? Other than that I'd struggle to rearrange things.
Opinions please?
