Hi all - In my quest to try another new veg, I grew some seakale (crambe maritima) from seed. I ended up with two really nice plants about 10" tall to plant out. But I have received conflicting info re: how big they get. One said a meter(!) wide another said to plant 60cm apart, which indicates something more modest.
My flowering crambe cordifollia, aka Giant Colewort (what a great name), is a honker at a meter wide and high. The seakales that I have seen on the Norfolk coast, and ones I saw at Audley End walled garden recently, seemded to be more in line with the latter idea of size.
Any idea what I am in for? Has anyone else grown seakale?
