Well for the life of me I just don't know how to get rid of *&%$$" thrips which seem to plague my garden plants and veg. Anywhere I disturb foliage they spring out and land somewhere else. As its a walled garden they seem to stay. I have sprayed with garlic water mixed with chemical free soap (lush), lavender, peppermint and tea tree oils mixed and and still the gits stay.

I really don't know how to get rid of them

I think maybe everything could be given a hard prune and all clippings taken off site?
Maybe use some sticky traps?
I don't really have the problem but often cutting off the infected leaves and getting rid of it is a better control than using sprays.

I have leaf mites in my Conker tree and I've seen best results when I've cleared away the leaves and tied right in refuse sacks - stops the cycle.

You might be almost on the right track with the essential oil spritzing. There's a paper from last month (https://doi.org/10.1002/ps.5551) that suggests that a mixture of methyl salicylate and carvacrol is particularly effective against some thrips - so that would be wintergreen and marjoram, maybe.

Thrips ---------as I spits. Horrible little things. I just cleared out all my leeks today they are so badly infested and that's despite spraying regularly. Can't remember the name of the insecticide but it is flemmin expensive.
