Pruning tomato trusses

I have loads of green toms in my polytunnel, and I want them to ripen! I've stopped the plants at the top to stop any more trusses forming, but then i got to thinking - what if I snipped off the ends of all the trusses too? Currently, there are loads of tiny toms and even flowers on the ends of the trusses that are never going to make it to maturity this season - and they're draining the plant's energy as it tries to grow them.
Would this work?

I sometimes prune the ends off the very long trusses, just because they're never going to produce anything at this stage. I've never noticed it making any difference to ripening though tbh - see if you do

I usually give one last substantial feed when I stop the plants. Here in the south east we can keep plants in the greenhouse to the end of October getting late fruit. Thats 10 weeks yet and plenty of time for set flowers to produce. Remember as you pick off fruit the plant has more energy for the remainder. The problem is short days and cold nights for you, or perhaps you want the space for another crop.
