I put kitchen scraps in my rotating composter and agree it’s the closest you’re ever going to get to a rat proof composter. Besides the rotating composter gets stuff broken down incredibly quickly into compost which won’t be attractive to rodents. The worms might cook though.

And I get three loads a year from it, so it's not like it's slow, either.
