      They can be an issue in land that has only recently been dug over and was previously grass. The more you cultivate the less issues you will have. Next year you probably won't notice the damage. Not that it's much help for this years crops such bad luck.

        makes sense what your saying with the wire worm. Last October it was a long term wild grass field area

          I find that Carolus is a far better variety in the kitchen than Sarpo Mira and is very blight resistant. wire worms can be a problem for a couple of years in recent grass land. I wouldn't grow main crop there for 2 years at least. Earlies should be OK though. Beans, peas, squash all suffer less from wireworm than root crops.

            The water logged area didn't help either 4 weeks in June July potatoes were sitting in standing water with the extreme rainfall.
            Are there any potatoe varies that do well in the wet
