Closhes Polythene Or Fleece

Hi All,
I made some largish closhes last week out of metal wood and some underfloor heating pipe. I hope to extend my growing season long enough to get a small harvest or varios green vegetables.
I wondered what would be the best option to cover the closhes with, fleece or polythene.

I have found that most fleece doesn't last very long (particularly the cheaper ones), but it does let water and air through. Maybe it depends how long it is going to be there.

Fleece does let enough light through and a good quality one should last years. People like Charles Dowding (market gardener and no-dig specialist) uses it to cover all their early crops, but usually just laid over the beds - rather than on hoops.

I think fleece would get shredded by winter gales if it was stretched over hoops. I would tend to use strong polythene - if you make sure it is UV stabilized it will last much longer.

I've given up on fleece - would work great, if it wasn't for the resident allotment fox who likes to jump on fleece covers and check what's underneath.
