So, the Achocha is romping all over the place and taking over the greenhouse worse tgan it was a couple of weeks ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ8DCyJWzBo&t=5s
There's only 2 little scrawney plants there and they are giving loads of fruit
As far as cooking I've had the smaller, younger ones raw and they have a slight cucumber taste but for some reason I cant find all of them when they are small and the larger mature pods are a bit tough when raw. I have, however, tried them cooked ( deseeded them and sliced & fried them and also deseeded them and stuffed them with various fillings) and this is when the flavour turns to more like a green pepper, although the pods themselves soften up.
As I've just brought back another box load of pods (to go with half a box I haven't eaten from the other day) I was wondering how everyone else cooks theirs.
I do plan on zapping a few through the juicer but wondering what else I can do with them.
Thinking about planting 20 of them next year to see how they do outside. Does anyone think that this might be a bad idea?
