  • Planting Aquadulce broad beans

I've bought some aquadulce broad beans for over-wintering. Do people start them in the ground or in the greenhouse?

Straight in the ground, sometime in October (or November if not too cold)
    Location: London

I start most seeds in modules so that I know there won't be any gaps or thinning out to do outdoors.

Like VC it's modules for me for the same reason. If you have mice about then also cover them whether in the ground or in modules

            Afternoon folks

Regards the module planters, are you using root trainer depth or normal module depths?

Also, when do you transfer them to their final growing position please?

Not overwintering broadies any more. Last couple of years I got chocolate spot very early. Whether that was anything to do with me living in tropical Suffolk or the fact they were sown outdoors I don't know, but I'll be planting springtime from now on. They dont produce that much later than the autumn sown ones
              Are y'oroight booy?

I tend to autumn sow straight in the ground. Then in spring plant up any gaps direct sown again.
