So I have cleared a space on the Allotment between the Polytunnel and the Frame for the Brassica Cage. It was going to be a flower bed but it looked very messy so I decided to take it away. What do people recommend for me to put there? Pots of Flowers? Just don’t want to shade the inside of the Polytunnel!

Ground cover with herbs? Guessing its quite sunny if you were planning a flower bed. I'd just want it covered to keep out weeds. Thymes, couple of sage plants, etc, probably not mint unless you want it running everywhere. Maybe something like that, or something attractive to pollinators like lavender? Shouldn't grow too big and apart from a hair cut once a year look after themselves.

I have pots in front of plants it’s fine the little bit of shade by the roots is quite helpful & in my case a bit of wind shielding,I had cape gooseberry in front of my beans & a pot with tomato & marigold right in front of my courgette, pots are good, you can move them if you need to.Location : Essex

Depends a lot on what sort of gardener you are and what plans you have for the future. I'm the lazy type and I don't mind waiting a few years for stuff to happen, so I'd probably chuck in some soft fruit, maybe - Tayberry and/or gooseberry - you can always grow stuff in pots too - some herbs work well that way and/or scented bulbs like daffodils or hyacinths which you can start outside then bring in to your home when they are in flower.

French marigolds and poached egg plants.
Whitefly don't like the smell of French marigolds so if your prevailing wind blows the scent towards your brassica cage, it'll help keep them off, and poached egg plants form a bit of a mat to keep weeds down and attract hoverflies which eat whiteAre y'oroight booy?
