I'm growing 'Swift' as a first early. The first ones were bought today to chit on my windowsill and then get planted in the greenhouse borders in a few weeks. They'll be out before the tomatoes and peppers need to be planted out. Then the rest will be planted outdoors and followed by my second earlies 'Wiljas'. I don't plant maincrop any more as every time I have either they get well slugged or blight gets them.

Lady Christl (1st early), Charlotte (2nd early), Desiree (maincrop). I may try a few of another maincrop variety as well - not yet decided.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy

Last year I grew for the first time, Red Duke of york, superb flavour, nice yield and can be eaten as a small first early or left right through to form very good sized main crop potatoes.
They dont breakup when boiling either.
I've kept s few for seed this year, I also cant remember what I've ordered this year.. will be a nice suprise when they arrive!<*}}}>< Jonathan ><{{{*>

I'm trying swift and Vitabella for the first time this year as early and fairly early, kestrel to eat next, Carolus for mains and Harmony for baked. I definitely recommend Carolus for its blight and slug resistance and cooking qualities. Harmony does produce large potatoes but does seem quite susceptible to slugs.

Growing Swift this year.
Getting them in and out early so I can use the space for other crops.
Space is at a premium in my garden so everything has to earn its keep.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I've got
International kidney - apparently early/2nd early
Kestrel - 2nd early
King edward - maincrop
And a patio pack with
Charlotte - salad
Vivaldi - 2nd early
Maris piper - maincrop
There's 3 of each potato in the patio pack, it's my first year growing them so wanted to try a few while still sticking to a couple I know we like, whether it's a good idea or not remains to be seen

I'm expecting a visitor from back home in Feb (and she's coming by car), and have asked her to bring some German varieties.
Sieglinde (first early), Granola (second early), and Bamberger Hörnchen (late, not expecting much in the way of harvest, but it is supposed to be a very tasty and very old variety).
Plus a few of the mystery blue variety I was first given last year by an allotment neighbour.Location: London

I will be growing Potato 'Rocket' (First Early)
Potato 'Pentland Javelin' (First Early)
Potato 'Lady Christl' (First Early)
Potato 'Kestrel' (Second Early)
Potato 'Desiree' (Early Maincrop)
Potato 'Cara' (Late Maincrop)
I have ordered a collection with a kilo of each variety, hopeful of a good potato year!
