A few more Blueberries,
the slow start of the Raspberries
First Courgette
We were visted by sister and BIL yesterday, they have been keeping very secure and we met at the allotment. I was itching to properly dig a hulm of the Pentland Javlin second earlies (no first earlies planted.
They came out really nice, decent size, colour and complexion. They cocked courgette and spuds for thier dinner and pronounced them very tasty.
What did astonish me was despite continued watering and rains last week, the ground was far drier that I would have liked.
We've just had a shower of rain and another due in about 40 Mins if the satalight images are anything to go by. If that doesn't materialise we will be up there as soon as I knock off at 5.00 watering cans in hand.

Picked, cooked and thoroughly enjoyed my first harvest of dwarf bean Concador which has pretty yellow pods. Also picked a few raspberries and strawberries.Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result

A goodly bunch of chives for tonight's leek&potato soup. Plus 1.5kg of cherries from the branch of next-door's tree that's haging over the hedge (They don't mind).Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)

French beans, early peas, tomatoes, garlic chives, spring onions, strawberries and raspberries.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
