  • A load more French beans
    A lot of tenderstem broccoli
    Some mangetout

Three gladioli. They're a bit late because I moved them this spring (the ones I moved last autumn flowered a month ago).

Turban squash are a winter squash, though? And those definitely aren't ripe.
Sure, you can pick them unripe and use them like summer squash, but that seems such a waste. The flavour of summer squash is vastly inferior to winter squash, after all.

            • courgettes... courgettes... and courgettes... biggest so far was 2.1kg...
Last year I planted two that died, planted two more that died and planted two more of which one survived... this year, I have 6 happy turbo-growing plants...

Oh, and peas, carrots and beetroot.

                You are right.
I took off a few to allow more fruits on the long vines to form in better light away from the main male flower forming part of the plants.
The bed is nicely slumping into a chamber of now dead couch grass roots in the bottom of the raised bed. The early start and bottom heat from starting the couch grass rotting process saved the plants from that late frost.

                  • I picked and ate my first Greengage of the year and it was delicious. Also munched on some peas and a cucumber whilst pottering.

                          • Another Kestrel potato plant.
Also dug my first Violet Queen potato plant. Only got about 500g, but then the plant did die prematurely about a month ago because slugs chewed through all the stems at ground level, so that's not actually too bad.

Oh, and more plums and some apples.
The Beauty of Bath apples ar going over a bit, to be honest. Starting to dry out and do a bit mealy. Still taste nice, though, and they look and smell lovely.

                            • Think I'll pull a few butterhead lettuce and get them in the fridge -last time we had 40C here they baked and collapsed.
