Yesterday an elderly relative was moaning about how tasteless and expensive tomatoes from the supermarket are. In Summer she gets a continuous supply from us. In Winter we use our oven roast frozen ones but we do not give these away (we would need yet another freezer if we did).
I offered to give her some early tomato seedlings to grow on one or more of her sunny south facing windowsills. She declined the offer, but then she is very neat and tidy. Not a thing out of place.
This made me reflect on the changing messy state of my lounge windowsill ( and others), from potatoes chitting at the moment, to seedlings in a few weeks right through to tomatoes ripening in Autumn. I have decided to take a photo of my messiness every month.
Please post yours and then I won't feel too scruffy (maybe).
Here is this months: January - potatoes chitting.
