Troy onion sets

Would it be advisable to plant Troy onion sets now. The bag I bought has no planting instructions. As always many thanks in advance.

might be better starting them off inside in trays (cellpaks even better) and then plant out later once the soil warms up.

Starting indoors would be best now but there would be no harm planting out now, depending where you are and if you don't have the space indoor. They are an autumn planting set and need to go in sooner rather than later.
Dobies suggest planting Sept. to Dec.
I'm in Cheshire and the soil is OK at the moment here. I moved some garlic that had germinated in the wrong place (bulbs I must have missed harvesting last summer) and was growing strongly.
