there's been a few threads on this before...you could do a search on "beans" or "kidney".
I dry lots of beans, prefer them to fresh. Good this year have been:
Canadian Wonder, dwarf, heavy cropper. proper red kidney
Barlotta: big fat beans, lovely colour red
Tiger: prolific, big beans like Barlotta, but black and white, tall
Cherokee: small black beans, heavy cropper, tall
Yin Yang: a tall dwarf. Maroon and cream beans, beautiful

I grew canadian wonder which I got from suffolk herbs. Good crop but you need to wait for the pods to turn yellowed then pick (dont leave them too long so they keep croppin). After shelling leave overnight open at room temp & they go from pinkish to proper kidney bean red. I didnt dry mine I chucked them in the freezer. I dont need to soak them then, Just use as required.
