I have had a lot of success with Greek Basil. I generally sow it April in the greenhouse, but a warm window cill works. I sow the seeds and give a layer of vermiculite. Love the more intense flavour of this herb, just chopping off what you need. Good luck.
Not grown any for a while but used to start ours off in the heated (non thermostat) prop. Think we kept it in a pot in the greenhouse but next door kept theirs on the windowsill.
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
Well if they don't appear I will try them in my propagator in the greenhouse.
I built it 30 years ago and it currently needs a bit of maintenance.
Once sorted the chilli seeds will go in and perhaps some greek basil.

Expect the worst in life and you will probably have under estimated!
The basil seeds that I started in the prop came through well. For the last few weeks have had them on a sunny windowstill. Now getting their first true leaves and was thinking I should pot hem on now? The wee tray they are in is the one from the prop and I could do with getting it back to use for other things . What should I do next? If I repot I could keep inside a bit longer or move to the gh. Still a bit cold out there though - its unheated.
